Sound Jars: Derick helped me order all my parts! An $80 order covered by my sculpture lab fees was able to get me all the motors I needed, two AC to DC converters (12V and 5V), some step-down DC to DC converters and some cool POTs. He showed me the math of my circut and reviewed amps, watts and ohms with me.
One of the grad students lent me some leftover acryilic scraps, and I was able to start playing around and I installed a shelf about at the height I want it. I think i like the acryilic, very furturistic and inviting.

Drum Machine: Got some $2.99 Concrete from the ace on downer, and prepped my shoes to become full of Concrete.
Running Man: Screen tests for the green guy concept of the Pepper's Ghost. Here is what I learne about light, movement and visibility... We shot it on iPhone 16 at 24 fps in 4k. We used to clamp lights from above in addition to the fluroecents. The subject appers uniformly lit and about 95% of the figure was keyed out, only wrinkles in the suit remain. The result is clean nd readable. I am considering if I want to improve the lighting, or lean into a messier silhouette. Either way, lighting should not be an issue. The test was conductuted in front of a piece of news print painted teal. I orginially was going to do green-on-green, but left the green screen at home. This worked better I think because it gave me more control over the forground and background, instead of just the ghostly composite like I had planned. I will be moving forward with a blue screen in the actual shoot. The movement was clear and clean. I tried out some movements and I think it looks fun and silly! This youtube video can be converted into a Pepper's ghost using an iPhone and some plastic. A few tests of that were successful, and the hologram remains visible in low to mid lighting.
